Paradip-Somnathpur-Haldia Greenfield Product Pipeline: A full update

Here is an example Project Name: Paradip-Somnathpur-Haldia Greenfield Product Pipeline 8Project Cost: Rs 1,297.50crore 8Project Description: Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) is installing a new greenfield 18-inches petroleum product pipeline of 344 Km length from Paradip refinery via Somnathpur terminal to Haldia with a transportation capacity of 4.6 MMTPA. The project is segmented into three groups: Group-A of a total length of 123 km from Paradip to Kansana Bansa river crossing; Group-B of the total length of 125 km from Kansana Bansa river crossing to Odisha/West Bengal border; and Group-C of the total length of 96 km from Odisha/West Bengal border to Haldia. The contract for PMC (Project Management Consultant) has been sanctioned to Synergiz Global Services Pvt. Ltd. For Group-A works i.e. a total length of 123 km of Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) technique and associated works is awarded to Mansi Ganga Builders & Engineers Pvt. Ltd. And for Group-B, i.e.125 km, to PLN Construction Ltd. and the package for combined station works of 1000 KLs capacity for Paradip, Haldia and Somnathpur were awarded to Bridge and Roof Co. (India) Ltd. RFQs for mainline pipes were awarded to Jindal Steel and Power; JSW Steel Ltd and Welspun steel. For Group-C i.e. the total length of 96 km from Odisha/West Bengal border, a meeting was held between Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) and WBSCZMA (West Bengal State Coastal Zone Management Authority) on 24.03.2021 for the proposed Pipeline which would cross two CRZ applicable locations in West Bengal i.e. (i) Rasulpur river and (ii) Haldi river where 18†pipeline will be laid down at the depth of 10–15 metres below the river bed surface. The consultant team already submitted the EMP (Environment Management Plan) including the mitigation measures as per EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) and Risk Analysis of the project. Forest Clearance in Odisha is still Pending. RFQs for 6 pumps were awarded to Sulzer Pumps India Private Limited. Mainline Laying work of 112 km welding and 22 km of lowering has already been completed. Progress of the project is severely affected due to Covid-19 Pandemic.
