Rs 300 crore cogeneration plant: BHEL to come out with equipment requirements

8Project Description: BHEL is soon expected to release the RFQ for the following equipment - Centrifugal Compressors, Gas supply Pipes, Combustion Chamber, Heat Exchanger for establishing an Additional Co-generation Unit, GT-IV, and Enhanced Reactive Thermal Oxidizer (ERTO) within the ONGC-owned Uran Plant. Meanwhile, as of now the selection process for boiler feed pumps and HT LT Motors is currently on after tenders were floated. The boiler and the turbine will be supplied by the BHEL itself. Instead of 20 MW, the project capacity has been reduced to 15 MW and a cost revision has also been done. The project will meet the requirement of power for other upcoming projects viz. Firewater Network, Air Compressor, and an Additional Process Unit (APU) at Uran. Further RFQs are expected shortly.
