Mozambique LNG project: Capital approval in first half of 2019
Jun 28: Anadarko, the operator of the Mozambique LNG project, in which the Indian trio of OIL, ONGC and BPCL are invested, has reportedly saved off $4 billion costs from the project cost.
8The final investment date is now slated to be the first half of 2016
8The consortium has also been able to tie up about 6.7 million tonnes of deals against a targeted volume of 8.5 million tpa.
8The initial nameplate capacity is 12.88 million tonnes per annum of LNG and this can go up to a massive 50 MMTPA since the concomitant gas reserves are available.
8But the onshore LNG terminal may run into rough weather if the Mozambique government were to change its policies. This is not an unlikely possibility given the fragile politics in the area.
8There has been some terror activity as well.
