Indian gas market: Facing headwinds again

The Indian gas market continues to be stymied by adverse factors.
8The spot market has tightened and there is now speculation that prices may even hit the $10/mmbtu mark, way higher than the long term oil-indexed benchmark.
8It is not just higher spot prices which are worrisome.
8In industrial clusters around India, some liquid fuels stay competitive to gas, more so as gas is not under the GST regime.
8Then again, propane and LPG are proving to be more competitive to LNG
8The cloud will only lift once spot prices settle down at reasonable levels
