Jul 31: There is some consternation globally among gas producers at the 11.8% fall in gas demand in the US power sector in June 2017 in relation to the same month last year.
8It is acknowledged that renewable energy is making a dent, but the extent of it is not known yet because as of now it is a surfeit of hydropower output that is leading to the fall in gas consumption in the power sector.
8An analysis over the last four years shows that gas consumption in power sector is trending on the lower edge this year.
8The use of gas in power consumption and its trend is going to be of increasing interest to analysts in the months and years ahead
