Why is India's gas consumption growing at a snail's pace?

India's gas consumption has gone up at snail's pace in the last two months. And that seems to be a cause for worry.
8In comparison to May 2016, consumption is down 1.20% though for the April-May period, it is up marginally 0.5%
8Then again, LNG imports are down 10% in May in relation to the same month last year while for April-May 2017, it is down 3.85%
8What is the cause for this?
8Gas consumption and LNG imports were meant to go up robustly according to projections.
8While LNG imports may be lower because of higher domestic output, what explains the slump in demand?
8Will this slow pace of growth pick up speed soon, particularly on the consumption side?
