It is learned that an anonymous letter is in circulation accusing ex Vice President marketing of Petronet LNG Ltd Pankaj Wadhwa of leaking out data of the bids that his employer was to put in for the 10th round of bidding for City Gas Distribution projects.
It was alledged that Wadhwa leaked the information out to AG&P, the Manila-based company which is aggressively expanding into the CGD business in India.
Wadhwa's resignation from Petronet LNG to join Think Tank has led to such speculation. It is surmised that the information of PLL's bids were provided to RK Garg, who happened to be a consultant to to AG&P. Garg had a long stint in PLL, from where he retired as director finance
Wahhwa is reported to have also put out that information to Abhilash Gupta, the head of finance of AG&P, who operates out of Delhi
The letter said that the leakage was what led to AG&P winning five CGD geographical areas in which PLL was also bidding in the 10th round.
Neither Wadhwa nor Garg was available for comment
