Offshore fabrication and pipes business: Indian companies getting in

Slowly but inexorably, Indian companies are getting their toe-hold in the high-tech offshore steel fabrication and pipeline business.
8Pushed by Make in India policy of the government of India, foreign suppliers are going to be edged out unless they set up manufacturing facilities in India.
8But for foreign companies, the market is not big enough to warrant an investment but for an Indian company, it is not just orders locally from the likes of ONGC that they can count on but also look out for orders from the rest of the world
8Two Indian companies have muscled their way into the exclusive offshore seamless line pipes segment
8Moreover, at least three new companies are setting up fabrication units which will qualify for bidding in offshore tenders
