Our project software-VII: The shine hasn't gone out of coal based power projects yet
Aug 14: There has always been a lot of speculation over whether new coal based power plants are every needed in India given the way demand for power is going as well on account of the advent of renewable power.
8However out feedback from the ground is that project promoters are still pushing for such power plants.
8One such project is the Udupi Thermal Power Expansion Project
8Project Cost: Rs 11500 crore
8Project Description:- Udupi Power Corporation Limited, a fully owned subsidiary of Adani Power Limited, is carrying out the basic engineering activities along with EIRA consultant CSIR-National Environmental Engineering Research Institute for a brownfield 1600 MW (2*800 MW) Super-critical Plant at the Thermal Power Station in Udupi, Karnataka. Capital approval process for the project is currently ongoing.
8Our feedback from the ground is that the RFQs for an EPC contractor is expected to be floated in 4th Quarter of 2017.
