8Sales: In the VLCC sector we had the sale of the “ORTHIS” (319,300dwt-blt 11, S.Korea), which was sold to Greek owner, TMS Tankers, for a price in the region of $57.0m. In the MR sector we had the sale of the “HIGH PRESENCE” (48,700dwt-blt 05, Japan), which was sold to Chinese owner, Shandong, for a price in the region of $15.0m.
8Newbuilding industry: Is quiet in terms of contracting activity but fairly busy at the same time with developments concerning troubled shipbuilders in the East, where layoffs and restructuring remain very much on the agenda of a number of yards this year as well.
