Is the PPP mode to pipeline construction really going to work in India?
8Three pipelines were proposed to be implemented using this route, with a Viability Gap Funding component.
8Eventually one was shortlisted but even this project eventually shot down
8Instead the pipeline is going to be implemented by GAIL with direct capital funding, for the unviable component, by the central govebment
8Clearly, PPP is not the way out for pipelines in India
