POL consumption goes up again in October, 2017-II: Petooke consumption continues to spiral

It is pertinent to note that petcoke grew by a disturbingly faster rate of 18.7% during the month, substituting other more expensive liquid fuels. It is also replacing incremental demand for gas.
8The demand for all oil products rose to 16.5 million metric tonnes (MMT) from 15.5 MMT a year ago.
8Except for SKO and bitumen, which recorded negative growth of -34.0% and -14.5% respectively during the current month, all other products recorded positive growth.
8On cumulative basis, consumption grew by 8.9% for the period April to October with only SKO registered a negative growth of -13.5%.
